Charlotte (she/her) is a Medicine Woman by trade and at heart. She considers her work sacred, synthesizing decades of knowledge absorbed as a student of ancient healing ways from around the world. Charlotte is formally trained and licensed as an Acupuncturist and practitioner of East Asian Medicine, board certified nationally in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM). She is also a Fellow of the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine, and was in fellowship for Health Equity and Social Justice with the Department of Medicine at Hennepin Healthcare.
The focus of Charlotte’s post-graduate education has been Classical Chinese Medicine with beloved Daoist master, Dr. Jeffrey Yuen, for the past 13 years. Charlotte also has advanced education on stroke rehabilitation and oncology from Tianjin, China. Thirty years ago, Charlotte began learning feng shui from Lillian Too. She’s knowledgeable of Igbo (traditional Nigerian) medicine, Hawaiian spirituality, and dream interpretation in various cultures.
In more recent years, Charlotte has honed in on the healing wisdom more closely related to her own roots. Her paternal lineage stems from San Antonio, and traces to Coahuila, Nuevo León, and San Luis Potosí. Curanderismo is known as the Traditional Healing Art of Mexico — a blend of Mesoamerican, Spanish, and African customs. Charlotte has learned from Dr. Selma Sroka locally, the University of New Mexico’s Curanderismo Summer Program, and Maestra Rita Navarrete of Metaxi, Mexico, presently exploring Soul Doula work (death and dying) and temazcal (temāzcalli in Nahuatl, a Mesoamerican sweat lodge). Her garden serves as a healing space for her limpia offerings in the summertime.
Charlotte is led by values of justice, beneficence, goodness, and humility. For eight years, she founded and directed One Medicine Classical Healing Arts and Apothecary, her own clinic built around making Whole Person Health accessible and attainable for all. She then brought this compassionate care to the Whittier neighborhood community through her clinical work within Hennepin Healthcare, where she also collaborated on grant-funded programs, Group Medical Visits, and equity collectives.
Charlotte aims to nurture vitality and balance in all aspects of health — physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual, structural, and environmental. She reminds us that we are multifaceted humans that deserve and need multifaceted care, and is dedicated to partnership with her patients and encouraging commitments to oneself. Charlotte is a generous listener, a proponent of joy, and champions self-love. Her mission is to share and teach the cultivation of vim and vigor through inspiration, education, and resources for vibrant living.
Beyond her clinical practice, Charlotte serves on the board for Cellal Africa, a non-profit delivering medicine and services to better the health of women and children in Senegal, carrying her cross-cultural humanitarian commitment into a wider community.
Charlotte lives a rich life surrounded by plants, music, and delicious food. She nourishes her global spirit through art, dancing, and exploring the world with her cherished husband, brilliant daughters, and adorable granddog.
