Ayurvedic bodywork is different from a “normal” massage. Based on principles of Ayurvedic medicine, these deeply relaxing treatments bring nourishment deep within the body, saturating tissues, cells and energetic channels with healing potential. Ayurvedic treatments promote renewal to muscles tissue and a calm clarity to the mind and nervous system. This deeply nourishing approach is also thought to bestow good vision, promote longevity, and decrease the effects of aging. Because each person is unique, special handcrafted organic oils are chosen based on your personal constitution. The oils are heated to a comfortable temperature and applied to the body. With the help of specific massage techniques and marma/acupressure points, the oil penetrates the skin and transports healing properties directly to your cells. Oils will vary depending on the season and/or the individual constitution. Click here to book an Ayurvedic Bodywork session with Leah Fifield, LAc.
We are excited to share that our very own Tatum Fjerstad will start offering Craniosacral Therapy at our clinic in Spring 2019.
Craniosacral Therapy is a form a light touch bodywork that invites your body to engage in its natural ability to heal itself. Your body does its best self-healing work when the parasympathetic (rest/digest) division of your autonomic nervous system is in charge. Modern life and daily stressors are constantly triggering the sympathetic (fight/flight/freeze) division of our nervous system, which makes it hard for us to get well and stay that way. The nerve roots for your parasympathetic system are located at the base of your spine (near your sacrum), and at the base of your skull (in your cranium), hence the name Craniosacral Therapy. Many people fall asleep or into a deep meditative state during a session and report feeling less pain and more grounded for days and weeks after a treatment. These extremely gentle, full-body sessions can treat:
migraines and headaches
chronic aches and pain
concussions and whiplash
Anxiety and depression
